A workflow from an idea to a reviewed draft
Test whether the conflict works before arranging scenes. What does each character want, why is it difficult to obtain and what will a choice cost? Answer those questions before deciding the sequence.
Use a few scenes in the first draft to test voice and pace. Preserve settled facts rather than changing world rules, motives and the ending while polishing one sentence.
Separate revision tasks: plot and continuity, scene structure, then sentences. Compare versions and accept the revision you want before continuing.
Review content, source rights and destination requirements before publication. A generated account draft is not a completed public release. Keep a downloaded copy and your final review notes.
